Tablet/Two in One

Has anyone on here got or had experience of the BumbleBee 2-in-1 PCS do. I am after a tablet for my Mum, it does not need to be high spec, she will be using it for internet, email, looking at pictures plus some videos (family made ones) and will play the odd game, nothing demanding, generally card games, Mah Jong type stuff. There is also a chance she may want to use a Wacom with it for a bit of drawing - is that going to be compatible/work OK with the BumbleBee

I quite like the look of the BumbleBee but cannot find any reviews. Otherwise does anyone recommend any not too expensive tablets but nothing from Apple.

I'd look up the Wacom tablet on their website, some of them suggest USB 3 is desired while the Bumblebee only has USB 2 afaik. But that aside I'd imagine it's compatible since it runs Windows and you'd presumably just install the Wacom software on there and connect the tablet to a USB port.

I've heard of people just about running WoW Draenor on an Atom CPU (to my great surprise I admit), so I imagine mah-jong and so forth will be fine.

Cheers, I think I will go with the BumbleBee, that allows me to stay with a company i know and have had good experiences with. Just had a look at Wacom and they also have Bluetooth connectivity so it looks as if i have got the birthday present sorted.

I have an Asus T100HA which has very similar spec - they do fine for light browsing, email, pictures, videos, non-demanding games (I also use it for programming - nowhere near as powerful as my PCS laptop, but it's also much more portable). The Atoms since 2014 became a lot more capable than the older rubbish, and they're also backed up with solid state storage (emmc is nowhere near as fast as regular SSDs, but still way better than regular hard disks that many laptops still sell with today).

One thing that stands out about the Bumblebee is the "up to 5 hours" battery life which is a lot less impressive than most ultra-portables (my T100HA gets 9-10 hours), then again £150 is a bargain price.

Also only USB 2, though again that's not unsurprising given the price. On the plus side, it's good to see 64GB as standard.

Had not really set a budget, probably up to about 350-400 but as she is interested in a Wacom as well, I may get the BumbleBee pluy a Wacom, depends what other stuff I see.

Yes a keyboard is needed, like me she hates typing on touch screens.

In general I find Apple products to be over-priced, almost like a fashion thing, people get them for the name rather than what is inside and what it does. There was a time when they were one of the best for music production but now there is Ardour and low latency Linux distros.

I bought one of the touch screens PCS was selling before with a keyboard but not the same model as you are planning to get. The wireless didn't work well and had to be upgraded and the touchscreen wasn't as responsive as the iPad but that is also the case with the surface I got. Since you wish to have a keyboard then the blumbebee is probably your best choice. I agree an iPad is overpriced but you can get cheaper refurbished ones or an earlier version but you may need a keyboard with it.

Thanks for the info. She already has my old Voyager for a lot of her computer needs but it is the 17" and she wanted something smaller to use sat down and relaxed, rather than at the computer desk. I doubt she will need any help but if so I think I can just about handle Win 10 better than whatever Apple do these days, about 20 odd years since I regularly used a Mac.
