Thermal pad dimensions for Proteus VII

Recently cleaned out the heatsinks and fans within my Proteus VII, a Quanta NLCA chassis, and noticed that some of the thermal pads for the GPU VRM have begun to fall out from under the thermal block. Temperatures have not worsened significantly compared to when I first got the machine however, there is a measured increase in temperature and I do feel as if replacing all the pads and applying new thermal paste would be in order. I reached out to PC Specialist however they have informed me that they no longer have a partnership with Quanta, nor do they have any service manuals or evaluation documents for this chassis.

I have also tried to research the chassis itself in the hopes that owners of other laptops with this chassis have posted the thermal pad sizes.. however I was unable to locate this information. re: Gigabyte AORUS 15-XA (also SA,WA,W9,X9) and Illegear Laguna SE.

Does anyone know the thermal pad dimensions, primarily the thickness, that I would need for this laptop? I don't exactly want to wing it as that could cause damage.

Easiest way is to get some bluetack and roll it into a flat pancake of around 2mm thickness (as that will be the max thickness). That will tell you how thick the pads need to be.

I would highly recommend Thermal Grizzly pads, they're very efficient, you can get them on Amazon or any decent PC supplier like Scan, Overclockers, EBuyer etc.

You suggestion would render the laptop unusable for a few days unless I pre-purchase all the different thermal pad thicknesses in advanced. 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, (3.0), plus I would need to ensure I have enough of each. While I appreciate a novel approach to measuring the required thickness of the pads, especially in the cases where the pads are probably to far gone to use more conventional tools, I was hoping that someone already had said measurements and would be able to share them. That would be far more useful.

Of course, if my laptops thermals take a nose-dive I will certainly resort to your approach. I do appreciate the thermal pad recommendation. Thermal Grizzily pads are reasonably priced for what they offer so once I know what ones I need It should be straight forward.
