Ideal spend is £750 absolute maximum of £800. This spec is just under the £800 mark. Is there anything I can do to bring the price down a little without much sacrifice? Any suggestions are welcome. I want to play games on high settings and mostly play MMOs and RPGs like GTA V, Witcher 3 and WoW (hence the 4gb gfx card choice). I also plan to add another graphics card down the road (hence the 650W power supply). I chose the H60 because I have been told that AMD chips like to run hot. Is this correct?

Wow that's very different. And this spec would easily run games such as witcher 3 better than the spec I posted?

It has a better CPU and gpu. It is better than the one you posted. For more detailed information on performance you could check benchmarks online

I don't know why people keep recommending budget Corsair PSU's. The VS series isn't even made by corsair or a good affiliate, its made by Channelwell technology and is inferior in every way, it doesn't contain even one japanese capacitor.

Never ever skimp on the PSU. It is the most important component in the entire build, followed closely by the VRM on the Mobo.

If you don't believe me ask anyone on Toms Hardware or Hardware Secrets.

Want to know: Will this spec be able to run the type and caliber of game mention on high settings? Is there a better alternative or any way to save the pennies? Will the spec hold up for very long?

Also: Thanks to Keynes for pointing me to this sort of build.

The 970 is an excellent card and will play those games at max or just under. You can check benchmarks online.
As to how long it'll last, that's very difficult to say as there are a lot of core upgrades coming to pc gaming in the following years, but 3 years should be fine.
