Hey everyone,
I've a rather convoluted problem, which only seems to have started today.
I have an Optimus VI, running Windows 7 Professional. Got all the recommended software installed from the product download page; Hotkey, Flexikey & ELAN Smartpad are perhaps noteworthy here. I also have MadCatz and Kone software driver packages for two other separate Mice.
Now the issue: When I click using the Touchpad (so, one tap), it appears to hold slightly longer then a traditional button-push mouse-click.
For example, if I use the left mouse click button beneath the touchpad, I can visibly see a brief click. Such as, when clicking the Address bar, or clicking the arrows to scroll a web page, it's extremely brief visibly and does not hold.
But if I use the touchpad to click, it holds slightly longer then it should, so clicking a scroll bar in some applications makes it scroll down twice because it holds just long enough. Strangely it doesn't happen in FireFox, but it does in Notepad (which is something I'm using a lot lately so it's just a bit irritating).
If that wasn't the end of it, this might blow your mind: if I adjust the "Double Click Speed" by anything less then maximum (maximum speed being what I always use), it fixes the issue. I can still visibly see the arrows on a scrollbar, with a mousepad click, holding just as long, but it does not move the scrollbar twice(!).
So, I can fix the issue by adjusting my double click speed by one smidgen in Windows Mouse Configuration, BUT, I shouldn't need to, and I was wondering if anyone knows the real source of the problem rather then a bodge fix.
You might think I'm crazy, but I can assure you that adjusting the double click speed resolves it - 100% correlation - even though it should realistically have no impact whatsoever.
I tried ending all the Processes in Task Manager for remotely related applications; Kone, MadCatz, ELAN (Touchpad), BioExcess (Fingerprint Scanner), HotKey and Flexikey, but to no avail.
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Nelafanji
