This system has a few obvious problems. The first is the RX 580: I presume that's what it's complaining about as that game seems to require raytracing. There are other areas I'd want to look at too: the CPU (though it might be OK), the memory (ditto), the storage (you need an NVMe drive for Doom: Dark Ages), the WiFi (unless you're using wired networking?) and above all the power supply, which will significantly reduce the upgradability of that PC.

What kind of budget are you looking at here? I reckon you're probably looking at something like £600-700, unless you turn out to need to upgrade the CPU too, which might add £200ish again...

ETA: @sck451 beat me to it.

What resolution are you playing at? What refresh rate is your monitor.

Some suggestions here, but they'll all depend on your budget:
  • a much more recent/beefier GPU, but that would also require a beefier PSU
  • the only real upgrade you could do for the CPU for gaming would be the 5700X3D (or a 5800X3D if you can find one new/used)
  • the 2400MHz RAM is VERY slow...the recommended speed for that CPU would be 3200MHz or 3600MHz
  • the 256GB SATA SSD is really small and slow/old tech, and a newer 1TB gen 4 m.2 SSD could speed everything up
  • the 4TB HDD is fine for 'slow' storage needs, but most modern games require that the be installed on a faster m.2 SSD - so a 2TB gen 3 SSD would be recommended there

I am a bit useless when it comes to specs. Pc specialist had designed this in 2021.

I am looking to gradually upgrade as I go. The budget would be anywhere between 500-800.

It’s sadly just that time where my PC has become slightly old lol

I’m trying to get ahead of the curve so when bigger / more demanding games come out (GTA/Elder scrolls) I’m ready for them and can play without being on the lowest setting.

Thanks for your responses, any further help is much appreciated and needed
