Video editing PC. Drive question

I've just ordered a PC. I've ordered a 9950x3D but it's not there for me to markup and post here so ignore the 9900x3D. I was mainly concerned about the drives, I have 3 M.2's, One will be OS, and Programs, another will be for footage and media, and the third will be for cache/scratch disk. But I am worried that this will take lanes away from my GPU anyone with knowledge to allay my fears would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any gaming involved in your usage? If not, the non-3D 9950X would be the better pick for high-core workloads (and £150 cheaper).

Yeah I should have included that it will be used to game too.

You can have 3 SSDs without disabling the GPU slot…but you need to use M2A, either M2B or M2C, and M2D.

Using just one of those will reduce the GPU slot to x8 speeds, but even a 5090 can’t use all that bandwidth, so you’ll have no problem with a 5070.

BTW, I’d probably change the SSD configuration a little…

1. 1TB Crucial T500 or 1TB Corsair Elite MP600 for OS/apps (Samsung don’t have the best reputation on here), as 2TB will just mean it’ll be mostly empty
2. 4TB Corsair Core XT MP600 for footage & media (the extra space here is probably of more use)
3. 512GB P41+ for scratch

Remove Norton! It is a pox on your system and window’s built in antivirus is fine.
