Vortex 17" - Sound output jack cutting out after Sleep/Hibernate and wrong jacks

The output jack for the external speakers is the one nearest the front of the laptop. The other jacks do not work.

Most importantly, after Sleep or Hibernate, the output jack will not work until next reset.

There is an easy solution.

Logon as administrator , goto Control Panel/Programs and Uninstall the "Realtek Sound Drivers" (or something like that).

Next reboot, and Windows will automatically load its own drivers for the sound chipset.

With those drivers the jacks now work fine even after Sleep/Hibernate, and all of them work, not just the one neat the front. As a matter of fact, the jack near the front is the headphones jack! The External Speakers jack is second from the back.

Once you have the standard Windows drivers installed you will now see two sets of Speakers, internal and external, and you will be able to use and adjust then independently, regardless if the jack is plugged in or not.

There should be a Warning NOT to install those buggy and broken Realtec drivers. They should be taken off the standard install from PCSpecialist.

The drivers offered by PC Specialist are not updated, they are the standards used for testing and installation. For updated drivers you need to go to the clevo website or even better to the manufacturers websites for each component.

I got my sound drivers off the clevo website and have none of the issues you've indicated. I would suggest it's because you didn't have the latest drivers installed, not because the drivers are buggy.
