Order @ dinner time last Monday. I spec'd no software at all, no op sys, no AV, no office.... So I wonder if that sped it up a little.
No it wouldn't, they have to install a non-activated version of Win7 for testing purposes anyway.

Really? So it's going to come with W7 on it ready? Will I have to clear that off and fresh install?

It will have an unactivated version of Win7 on it yes, and after 25-30 days Win7 will become unuseable.
If you are going to put your own Win7 Home Premium on it, you may just be able to enter the activation code, I'm not sure, if its any other OS, you may have to wipe and install cleanly, but again I don't really know.

Best do a clean install with the OS disk you have,instructions are given in the welcome booklet.
The OS installed by PCS will be an OEM version and will have an OEM product ID,which you can see by right clicking "computer"/select"properties",the product ID will be at the bottom of the page.You could have problems with activating the installed OS sooner or later using a retail version product key.
