Waiting for my build

You must live in a very simplistic world if you consider 2 to 3 weeks isn't too bad....I don't mind the wait but object to having PCS make money off my money when I could be doing that. As far as PCS not going to the wall....Well who knows because better companies have with better balance sheets.
I don't follow you, where on earth could you buy something without paying up front unless taking on a contract to pay in installments, business doesn't work like that,PCS still need to buy all the components before they start building the computer.

I sense this is an argument I cannot win, so I'm not even going to try.

All I will say is 2-3 weeks is not a long time, unless you have tooth ache. If you really need a rig you can a) buy the read made ones from PCS or b) shop with someone who will dispatch the same/next day.

Its not about what we consider, anyone who buys from PCS agrees to this being the case by acceptance of their Ts and Cs which clearly define the maximum period you might end up waiting for you rig (for the record, its 30 working days).

Its not like PCS took your money and then said "hahaha now you can wait" you knew (or certainly, I believe its reasonable to suggest you should have known by virtue of all of the information at your disposal) that PCS would want payment and then process your order.

I think Boggy is talking about buying something from say... PC world for example, ie you can go in and pay for a system and walk away with it the same day.

I don't know of any system builders who would spec up your rig before payment. I don't even think the likes of Dell/Alienware do that.

No Boggy isn't talking about buying off the shelf.....I'm talking about having over optimistic time frames for building a product....I'm getting a bit sick of the childish comments from the "moderators" who seem to have the same grasp of doing business as a child would in a kinder-garden......After owning companies for the past 45 years with work forces exceeding 1200 I have a fair idea of how companies operate, also of how and why they suddenly go bust.....To sit on a customers money for a lengthy period of time is not good business practice and shows that the company is short staffed, under supplied, over extending themselves or even worse under funded....I certainly don't need a lecture about business acumen from people with a lot of time on their hands.

It's dangerous to make assumptions about people you don't know and it impresses no one when you start insulting people. At the end of the day you agreed to a term of 30 days, in your 45 years of business are you telling me that you have never experienced a spike in demand that caused you delays?

Ordered my PC last night with fast track 5 days and its already at the 'Quality Control' stage. When dropping the amount we pay for these PC's, whats an extra £39.

I would tend to agree, which is why I did the same myself back when I got mine (have since hard 'normal' service since which was bang on schedule) Should be with you inside 3-4 days unless anything crops up.
