Webcam not working!

Hi all,
1,5 years ago I bought a Vyper laptop and I am super satisfied. However, recently the webcam stopped working.

It is there in the device manager (as HD camera), but when attempting to open the camera windows 'app', I'm given a 'can't find your camera' error page with the code:

0x00F4244(NoCamerasAreAttached)

I have tried uninstalling the webcam and reinstalling it, updating the drivers, uninstalling the camera app, updating win 10, but nothing worked so far...

Any idea on what it may have happened, and how to fix it?

Some laptops have an Fn key that turns the webcam off. Have a look at the symbols on your Fn keys...

Unfortunately, it seems not to be the case for the vyper

Hmmmm. Is it enabled in Device Manager? Right click on the camera and if you see Enable in the menu click it.

Yes, it is. From the device manager, it seems everything is fine. It says that the device is working properly, no yellow exclamation mark and the driver is up to date.

If I uninstall it and then check for hardware changes, it goes back to the list.

I had the same issue with my Recoil ii laptop. The webcam stopped working one day. Showing in device manager, drivers up to date but when using the Windows 10 camera app it was just a pixilated mess.

After speaking with the technical support they requested the laptop be returned as it was still in warranty. I just accepted that the webcam wouldn't work as I didn't want to send it back. About three weeks later the screen started to constantly flicker so I had to returned it and they advised that the screen connector on the motherboard (which carried both the screen and webcam line) had failed and would need replacing.

Hopefully that isn't what is happening here but as my issue started out the same I thought I'd let you know of potentially what could be happening.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I hope my case is that there is something wrong with some driver, or Windows update...

But Googling this issue, it seems other people have it.

I would phone PCS (don't email) and ask for their help. If this is a known issue they may have a solution, or you could send it back for repair...
