You really are buying entirely the wrong product if you have no wish to upgrade, you’d get far more for your money for branded systems

i really dont think so branded ones coast about the same from my research
Not at all, not if you buy new old gen, far cheaper and very much the same performance.

This system would be costing you double what you’re paying because you’re throwing it away mid cycle, it’s such a waste for no reason

The ability to upgrade, balance, and customise components is the paramount of the custom PC.
If you plan to replace the whole system every 2-3 years, the custom PC makes little sense. You might explore branded off the shelf products.

For a similar spec pc its costs around 100 less and i dont trust the branded pcs. They can be built badly and have thermal issues

That’s the point though, you’re looking at the wrong product. A branded system is a product as a whole, so as soon as it’s slightly older, they slash the price to clear stocks. You must be looking at a current gen which isn’t what you’d buy.

You also aren’t going to benefit from cutting edge for your use case anyway, the only reason you’d need to go cutting edge if for longevity which isn’t something you need

again, just upgrade your current pc, you’re not gaining anything by replacing it, literally throwing money away for marginal benefit.

If you can explain your reticence to upgrade it may make more sense to us, but currently it completely defeats the whole reason you’d buy a custom pc

Is this your current PC? If this is the case, you could get the same performance as the latest gen for around £1000 (5700X3D, 2 RAM sticks for 4x8GB kit, and a 9070XT).
