I have been looking at getting some different games, but I am not sure which games would be able to run okay on my current system.

The games that I have looked at are:

Robocop Rogue City
Mortal Kombat 1

2 games that are going to be released later this year - Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Syberia Remastered. Both of these I am interested in. But I am not sure if they were be able to run that well.

My monitor - IIYAMA G-MASTER GB2760QSU-B1 27" is non-HDR.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, please.

Thank you.

I have a worse build than you in most regards - 16 GB of 3000MHz RAM, a 2700x CPU, 850W PSU and a 2080Ti GPU.

I'm still playing pretty much everything at 1440p, but turning settings down towards minimum on newer games. I'm starting to see my specs line up with the 'minimum recommended' for the newest games but it's the CPU that's creaking harder than the GPU, for me. You might find the opposite - how is it performing on the games you currently play? You should find Mortal Kombat & Robocop fine - you are above the minimum specs, so you just need to tune your settings and find the compromises that work for you

I was considering upgrading to a 5800x3D but may have left it too late. The 5800x3d has hit end of life and is no longer widely available (but the 5700x3d is). Given you'd get a slightly smaller jump there, than me, and have less headroom for a GPU upgrade, power-wise, I guess a full new build must be more tempting. Tough decision though, in most regards that's still a beast of a PC. I'm leaning towards dragging my heels for another year or two.

I would absolutely be looking at upgrading, as we've already mentioned before, this was already the case when you raised it last year but didn't give enough information, that GPU isn't suitable for that monitor. As soon as you’re having to reduce resolution to get acceptable frame rates, the GPU is no longer suitable really

But you don't need to replace the system, just a 5700X3D and a reference model 9070xt, and double the RAM, that would see you pretty for a long time to come. You wouldn't even have to replace the cooler. Even a 5700X3D will outperform say a 7950X in most games, it's the 3dvcache that's so important. The 5700X3D is exactly the same chip as the 5800X3D just lower binning

I would also look to upgrade the monitor, that one is lowest tier possible really and would be hampering overall performance.

You could also drop in a second PCIe 4 NVME dedicated games drive

The step up from 3rd generation 700 standard cpu to a 5th generation 3dvcache will be quite a significant leap in the 1% lows, and unlock the GPU headroom plenty for a 1440p gpu.

You can see a fairly recent benchmark, just because it's 5000 series X3D, it's still topping the charts in a lot of titles over non-x3d models even from more recent generations

Just additionally, a lot of people don’t realise that PCS offer an upgrade service, so if you’re uncomfortable you can send the system to them to do all this for you at a small charge.
