When adding additional RAM i get 'no signal' on the monitor

Yeah, it will see the full amount if they’re paired ok, so mine sees the full 24Gb.But your four sticks are paired off correctly? So it sees 8 GB and 16 GB in two sets making 24 GB total? What if you only had one of each - it would still be 12 GB total then in one dual channel set?
Jesus - I'm getting confused now with all those numbers. Just say the answer is 42 and let's move on......

The machine that I am using whilst awaiting delivery of my PCS machine has 2 X 4GB and 1 X 8Gb. When I first added the 8Gb stick, the pc was only seeing 4Gb instead of 16Gb. To get round that I just amended the bios to work on triple channel memory instead of dual channel, and am able to access all 16GB.But your four sticks are paired off correctly? As this is a short term solution pending new machine, it works fine but don't think triple channeled mobo's exist for the general consumer market these days. Putting three ram chips in a mobo that supports dual channel, would mean all 3 sticks operating in single channel mode. So you would get the benefit of all the memory being accessible, but lose the speed advantage that dual memory brings.
Obviously with modern mobo's being more sophisticated these days, whereby some boards will report errors if you just place 2 sticks of ram in the wrong slots, the chances of getting three sticks to work is reduced.
