To advise you appropriately, we need to know some more information:

- Maximum Budget? To know what room there is to change things

- If gaming, what monitor will you be using with this build? Resolution and refresh rate or make and model if unsure. GPUs are matched to the monitor

- What else will it be used for? Streaming? Editing etc
Hi Nursemorph, Thanks for the response.

1200 is the maximum budget really.
Gaming is only for games like civilisation or age of empires type not really into warcraft and the like.

I have a dell monitor I was not planning to change this its a p2014ht I don't know if that helps

Its mostly for work with a very small amount of streaming or editing this may change in the future. My last desktop just died so I need a new one and the old one was over 10 yrs old so very out of date on all tech.

Can you tell me if there will be enough space in there to put in my old hard drive as it has everything on it I currently have it in an external case

Thanks for your help Nursmorph but 1200 was my max budget in fact that too was too high. Could I get one of the cheaper boxes and perhaps the entry level ryzen 7 or top range ryzen 5
Also would the 1660 ti be any better then the 1660.
Sorry to ask so many questions. Just trying to bring the cost down. If the 2060 were in stock would the ones I initially put together be any good or would i need to male significant changes?

Thanks for your help @Nursemorph I really appreciate it. Did manage to get it to £1250 including Vat. I could do the extra £50 or did you mean then you compromised from £1250.

I was reading on some of the other threads that I have to keep reinstalling windows on a custom built PC is this true? I’m not great with computers and if that is the case perhaps I would be better off getting one of the aldready out together ones.
