There will likely be future events so keep an eye out.

It’s just such a shame that what has been such a great tournament for everyone from each participating country over the weeks has to be spoilt by racial abuse towards players that missed their penalty last night.

Yes it’s upsetting and such a shame for England that yet again penalties is our downfall but there is no excuse for such abuse. But that’s another topic.

If you'd said to me 6 weeks ago "England to finish 2nd in the Euros", I'd have been quite happy at that. I'm a little disappointed this morning, but I know I'll be more positive about how the team did this summer once this feeling has passed.

I didn't watch the football but I did watch the men's singles final at Wimbledon. Matteo Berrettini put up an excellent fight against Novak Djokovic but he was beaten by two falls and a submission. Shame.

Apologies folks, I had an early night last night and it appears I woke up to find out that England sadly lost on penalties! Big shame but England did do very well to make the final and it has been uplifting for the nation in a conflicted time.

Congratulations to the other winners. Please could my £5 also go towards SHINE, it seems like a great cause.

As previously promised, I will also be donating £10 as I somehow managed to get a 3 point prediction. I’m going to put this towards VetLife. VetLife is a helpline that supports all members of the veterinary profession. Mental health is a serious problem in the profession, with a 4x higher than average suicide rate. I’ve had very positive support from VetLife over the years including back in November when I hit an especially low patch.

Thanks again to @Bhuna50 for putting together such a fantastic competition, and thanks to everyone from the forum who came together to make it so engaging.

Nice one.

I have said to a couple of others via PM that I have a personal budget for charity donations - usually £10 a month but more if I can. So far this year:

Basically, usually its for when people at work ask for this sponsorship and that sponsorship, but with working from home, I'm not seeing so many requests, so I like to come up with fun ways of 'sponsoring' people - ie these silly little competitions and then let other people choose which charities

:D

Ultimately as long as the charity wins, thats the main aim.

You do an awesome thing having a budget for charity donations.

Speaking of silly little competitions, there's a site called Superbru that covers just about any sport and sporting event you can think of. I've been a member of the site nearly 8 years and have guessed the outcomes of more than 52,000 different matches, games, etc across more than 600 tounaments in that time. It's entirely free to play and could easily be used if you wanted to set up more competitions over a long or short period - the Olympics and La Vuelta are two competitions coming up. in the next month or so, but then there's also entire league seasons in various sports if you wanted to do something longer term.

My proudest Superbru moment was when I was number one in the world in the Pakistan Super League the other year. I know next to bugger all about cricket, but sheer luck helped me out!
