If your new one that is yet to arrive is the 1440p version, then yes that’s okay.

If however it’s the 1080p version then no.


as @SpyderTracks says monitor refresh rates and FPS are pretty much read across, however even with a 144hz screen you rarely max it out on full settings. There is a huge amount of marketing rubbish about FPS and things like 240hz screens etc.

To summarise: change your OC back to normal and just enjoy your new screen and games, if you want better performance at a later date go for a 3060ti

lastly i picked up a new display port lead, will i get the best quality with this cable?

The monitor should come with one, no need for a separate one.
