I have been waiting for a long time for an AMD 16" recoil laptop, it's delayed because the 5090 chassis is not supplied yet. I have now been told it "might" be in by the end of the month.
I want this machine to produce AI video and images and create Loras, there will unlikely be any games played.
I believe the 5090 graphics cards are in stock for desktops so I am thinking of changing to a desktop instead of waiting for the laptop. the benefit of this will be the additional vram on the graphics card but I am concerned about the issues with wiring burnout on the 5090 or has that now been sorted? Another benefit would be the cooling on the dsktop as I have no intention of water cooling the laptop.
What do you all think? the laptop will never be unplugged and would never leave the house, the only reason I wanted a laptop was so I could sit in bed in the morning to check emails and news etc, I'm thinking I could get a cheap laptop to do that.
I have a monitor that will do for now, or i'll add one to this spec, same goes for a keyboard and mouse, I tend to use a trackball anyway.
Here is the spec I'm looking at, I'd be very grateful for opinions good or bad from you guys that know.

What would you do? what would you change if anything? Why are there so many 5090 options? Are they all Nvidia?
Many thanks,
Clint
