Would you mind making the tests on the RAM benchmark thread (below) so that we could try to double-check your frequency? 3dMark usually reports the total frequency (not half), so might be worth having a look on other tools as well...
Let's start with the Rank explanation. Below is the best image that I could find to show what it means (taken from https://www.cgdirector.com/single-rank-vs-dual-rank-ram/):
So it means that dual-rank memory can output twice as many data (72b x 144b)? Not exactly, as the memory controller can...
Looking at it better now after a good night of sleep and a coffee :p , it looks to me that the basic difference between design 1 and design 2 is that the former has 2 2.5"slots and 4 M.2 slots (WLAN, SSD PCie, SSD SATA and 3G/4G), while the latter has 1 2.5" and 3 M.2 (WLAN, SSD PCIe...
Maybe PCS is offering the Samsung SSD as a replacement for your intel 600p?
Based on the model number you gave previously, I believe to have found the manual for it on Clevo's website: https://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/USRManualOut.asp?model=P65xRP6
The manual is quite confusing...
Hey @Tron1982 , thanks a lot for sharing your results. Let's go to the explanations about how to interpret the data (I'll try my best to not be very technical here  ):
RAM performance cannot be measured by looking into one single data point, but the closest you can get to that is by...
Last rank update of 2021! Happy new year everyone!
In case you haven't noticed and are interested in more laptop benchmarks, I've created a new thread for comparison between RAM speeds, frequencies, ranks and banks. Feel free to post your results here...
I think that CL20 is the best you can get right now for 3200Mhz at 1.2V.
Also make sure you're paying attention to the number of ranks and banks in the RAM, as it also has impact on performance. In general, best is dual rank and 8 banks, then single rank and 8 banks, then dual rank 16 banks...
How many FPS were you getting on average? As I said in a previous post here, limiting maximum FPS is the easiest way to reduce fan noise if you're being bothered by it.
You need to understand that you have a 6-core 45W CPU that could boost all the way to 4.6Ghz, plus a 3070 GPU that is probably...
I'm not an Intel expert, but always thought that any unstable overclock that was done on the bios could be recovered by doing a bios reset (removing the CMOS battery for a few seconds and putting it back). That should work either for desktops or laptops, if I'm not wrong
Updated it and removed 2 previous similar results (kept first one with optimus and no tweaks just for comparison reasons).
By the way, have you ever heard about Intel Performance Maximizer? Came across an article about it today and it seems that your CPU is compatible, so just interested in...
So my CPU fan curve is like the below:
0-60°C: 24% (daily usage)
61-65°: 31% (when opening Google Chrome :D )
66-75°: 38% (gaming is here for most of the time, but depending on how heavy the game is)
76-79°: 45% (loud, but tolerable.... my CPU stays up to this level 99% of the time, even with...
The destian chassis is basically the same (or very similar) to my 2019 Nova, so I know how noisy 40%+ is indeed. I use it at around 23% for everyday low loads and at that level is very quiet, but anything above 30% is quite audible and 40%+ is loud. I don't remember what is the fans % that I use...
Are you ok with noise, right? Because a 12-core desktop CPU and a mobile 3070 inside a laptop is definitely going to get noisy when under load (sometimes even on low loads like using Chrome). You can always use Control Center to change power and fan profiles, like quiet when doing light tasks...
Hi all,
I started to notice in the forum some discussions going on recently about RAM speeds: some people trying to compare speeds from their builds against others with the same specs, while others are just trying to check their clock speeds. So I thought about the idea of creating a rank of...
Do you know if both have the same TDP or if yours is higher? Are you also using Dynamic Boost? Those things need to be considered when comparing laptop GPUs, especially the RTX 30 series.
On PCS laptops, what controls power management is the Control Center, so you can try to play around with the profiles (high performance and entertainment/gaming) to see if the overall score and fps improve or not. Not sure if your chassis is from Clevo or TongFang, as I've heard that the...
The combined score is based on the combined test's score and avg FPS, which for some weird reason your results were quite low compared to the other 2 top ones (50fps on yours vs. 60+ for them).
I initially thought that maybe a windows background process might have run just at the time of the...
