The actual platoon name can be more than 4 characters, but the prefix on user nic can be no more than 4. Now sure how many 4 letter combinations will be available now!

Mate go on eBay and search for Battlefield 3 Premium key, you should be able to pick the DLC up for about £14.

The last map last night (Scrap Metal) just blitzed me, I couldn't get in any decent positions or pick anybody out before being riddled with holes. It definitely was an off-night, tonight will be better if I can get on. There are a couple of decent servers I'll send you if you don't mind vehicles as well.

I had a few games with Tom and someone else, was pretty good games.
I wish there was a hot key to say "BEHIND YOU" though.

I was loving Scrap Metal, first game I played was with Tom and it was just carnage, think I got like 75 from 28 or something; other team were just blitzing us from that roof where 'A' is. Second time I played it with you we managed to get on the 'A' side and I managed to spend most my game defending up there and ended up with 50 from 17 or something. They are absolute carnage but they're full of idiots who expect to be able to plough through 32 players single-handedly which makes it easy pickings for the rest of us.

Apparently everybody is a 'hacker' or a 'm16 noob' or 'shotgun noob' and it's like really guys? You're playing on a 64 player server on a CQC map and you're shocked that somebody might opt to use a shotgun? What on earth would possess them to do that? Why not run around with a sniper ey? I don't mind vehicles! Just as long as they're not massive Conquest Large games really. Maps that are similar size to Seine Crossing and Grand Bazaar are ideal. I know that Scan have a few decent servers that are worth playing.

I enjoy the Conquest Large maps, gives you a chance to use Stingers and strategically placed mines as well as get some good points in tanks by capturing and defending flags. I don't really mind what I go on to be honest, I just like to change it round every now and again to keep it fresh. Infantry maps are good but vehicular maps are just as good.

Yeah it was great ended up with 78 kills
I quite enjoy the 64 player cq maps, there might be a few "campers" (hate that stupid cod term, they are basically defending a VP OR VA, as you would in real life.... VA= vulnerable area, VP= Vulnerable Point). But it is quite easy to get loads of kills when working as a squad or a team.
But what you do notice on the larger/medium conquest maps. You very often get one team completely dominating another team, with the defending team pushed all the way back to "base" getting nailed by tanks/jets/helis/ etc etc. In CQ you simply dont see this, a team may be winning, but I've been in quite a few games when the initial losing team has turned it around and won. All it takes is a bit of team work.

Yeah i agree, camping is just a bad sports way of saying defending.
One thing i do notice with those types of games is that the teams usually split into 2 groups and there are normally 2 battle points going on normally near bottle necks.
Also in those close quarter maps last night i was still getting sniped at times, was a surprising skill despite the tight area to work with.

I enjoyed the game on scrap metal, I did pretty well. It's a bit pathetic all the moaning about different guns and I saw 1 person getting kicked from a game because they used a smaw.
I only like rush on big maps, especially with lots of players. Suits my play style much better.

That depends, I have been killed by campers lying in bushes off of the beaten path, with their silenced weapons just waiting for the odd person to come along. Not even slightly defending just using a cheap tactic.
