Shooting shiny recons with an A Rifle from distance is the fun
yeah, I took the sights of the recon rifles, so I can still be a marksman but without that daft glare.
Is anyone else experiencing weird bugs? If you go onto the pause screen just before you die, when you spawn everything is all blue! I went through the floor on one map as well.
Also I've noticed the rocket launcher is very buggy, and if you die before your rocket hits something it just disappears in thin air, which is seriously irritating. Am finding the engineer class to have really underpowered guns compared to the other glasses as well.
What do you guys think? I have to admit I thought I was going to be a lot more blown away, but I actually am finding it a rather frustrating game to play. I love the realism but it just seems a bit 'rushed' in certain areas. (No 'beta' spiel, the games a month away from release, this is a glorified demo.)
I dont think you have any way of commenting on whether this is a beta or not, by the sounds of it you have no experience with code development or the software lifecycle. I dont see it as rushed, I see it as buggy, all games are in beta stages, whether open or closed. You may find it irritating but tbh I couldnt care less, if you found the full game irritating then yes of course it would be concerning, but again we arrive back at the same point ITS A BETA.
A month is a long time in software development., a very very long time. With a 10 man team (a lot less than they have) thats still 1400 man hours of development / bug fixing. Increasing power of weapons, sway amount on snipers, can be done in minutes, deciding if a game object gets destroyed on player death can also be done in relatively little time. Pretty much every bug you have mentioned is a minor issue which can be solved in less than half a day.
Unless you actually have experience developing, you really have no place to comment on how it cant be a beta being this close to release.
Not really sure I need any experience in developing to note that a month before release isn't very long. Of course they don't have a month left to sort out bugs as the game will surely need to be in production for a good few weeks to get it on the shelves? You seem unreasonable defensive however, I never made out those bugs were huge issues. I'm pretty sure the rocket launcher thing is going to be in the final game though, as it was in BC2.
All I have to compare it to is other betas I've played, which have all been months before release, but still less buggy than Operation Metro seem to be.
Not so much daft, but realistic (although slightly too glarey, but still realistic)
The glare is not actually very realistic. scopes/optics are designed so they don't reflect light, they have actually been like this for a number of years.
Yeah but on older scopes its not, apparently theyre thinking of bringing in betrter scopes with less glare later on, as an unlock
