I have to agree the browser is an ingenious idea, looks cool and has all the info you want in one place. I'm sure more games will follow suit in the future.

I'm pretty chuffed about the fact that my GTX 570 has automatically put my graphics to ultra and I'm feeling no lag at all. It's not got AA turned on but the graphics are on ultra and some bits on high with the auto detection. Might just be because it's on Metro, might change it for the big maps but I'm happy about that. (Using the new nvidia beta driver)
Only problem so far after getting past the constant stuck on connecting in the web browser, once you get in there's not many problems, I haven't had any crash at all, once I'm in I can play for hours on end. I get the odd death cam going underground and hovering off somewhere random underground. It does annoy me a bit how you can't choose to click off the stupid death cam sooner, have to watch the knob who shot you for a good 5+ seconds.
I can shoot through rocks.
Another thing I noticed was how easy you die, It feels like you've got the hardcore mode on from BFBC2 automatically, think it should be a little less hard to die, and have the option to add hardcore mode on servers like BFBC2.
The map is stupid, it's completely useless, when you press M it just increases the size of the minimap, it doesn't increase the viewing distance, it just stretches it to a big square. Pointless and hard to keep a look at your team, a feature that makes teamplay harder in a game based around team play, stupid if you ask me.
But appart from that, the game is epic. I actually like Metro, I think BF is 90% about mixed vehicle/foot combat though, so it's a bit of a spastic move to do beta testing on a COD like map. It's probably harmed their sales whether they like it or not. I'm personally happy, but others who have tried metro and never got a chance to do caspian have decided they ain't getting the game. Call them stupid or not, but it's resulted in less sales whether you like it or not. Imo Beta should've been on Caspian, at least the open beta, because most people who try open beta try it as a Demo, not as a beta tester, pretty sure DICE know that, so can't understand their choice.

I agree with you johake you do seem to die ridiculously fast. I swear on occasions I've been killed by a single Sub Machine gun bullet at close range. The map is Godawful as well, and definitely needs to be improved for the main game! It makes choosing where to spawn a little confusing as you can barely tell where abouts your squad mates are.
I actually think Metro is a pretty good map for infantry combat, the only reason it's getting hate is because of the lack of vehicles.
I'm not sure if the Beta has harmed their sales, the general consensus from non-Battlefield forums is that the Beta is amazing and that it has definitely taking the top spot from COD. A lot of people from IGN are saying they've now cancelled their MW3 Beta.
I'm definitely buying the game...not sure whether to get it for Xbox or PC though yet. (Don't flame me but I kind of prefer consoles for FPS...blasphemy I know...)

Don't get me wrong, I love BF3, it's bloody epic. I'm having it.
I think Metro is a bit bad. It's got too many choke points, it's hard as a attacking team unless you have a few players who play cannon fodder and take the shots. Most people tend to be scared to move though, so defending is so damned easy, especially the 2nd and 3rd part. Basically the two parts of the metro tunnel, the first grassy bit and the last open area can be flanked etc.
I love the flashlights and laser sights, it's so epic to blind people. The grassy bit needs a APC and some buggies/4wheel motorbike thingies, some offroad stuff to get you past all the campers in bushes quicker.

Bet you dont love the flaslights in the tunnel, when some nonse on YOUR time blinds YOU and YOU get killed! They should have team kills on for that reason, if some clown is blinding me, I just blatt away, I don't know they if who it is, if they are on my team, how can I? I'm blinded. This is more of a player issue, gamers not realising that they are actually blinding a team mate.
The red dot is cool though.

LOL i love winding up all the stupid muppets on the bf3 beta forums, its class lol.
Some muppet is whining that a machine gunner would kill him from 250metres!
Edit - Another muppet is moaning that the recoil for the support class, lol so I gave him a quick lesson on burst firing, Then this cracked my up, He said said "my stats are better than yours, So you cant tell me that I'm wrong!"LMFAO!

Got a bit disappointed yesterday.
Already encountered my first aimbotter. Running around in the middle of the grassy bits pushing the full team back shotting in all directions with a machine gun until they're all pushed down into the starting area, and then pop there he is with 100 kills and 0 deaths. Quite disappointing how short time it took to get a aimbotter into even beta.
Odd thing is, when I checked him on the webbrowser thing, he had 2.15 K/D ratio, so he seems to have started recently, last game that was shown on his page was a day old, and must've started since.
Player called Facaden.

I have seen a few aimbotters already myself and yes it did not take long for them to come out infact pretty shocking seen as it's still in beta, oh and watch out spawning on them mobile spawn points someone dropped 1 inside a rock i think half my team spawned on it i had to suicide to get out so i can see this being great fun for any admins already

Is origin bugged for downloading? Been downloading the Beta but i seem to get to 100% download, then pass 100% (Currently on 5gig of 3.8gig) and then it goes down to about 85% and works its way up again. Im on my third attempt at downloading 100% and actually being 2 gig over what im supposed to download. Its confusing me......hasnt given me an option to play, to install or anything. Just a download slider thats going up and down and downloading too much then going back to not being complete! Grr!
