Over time storage prices might be coming down, but thanks to the state of the £ and apparently the NAND shortage they've gone up. This is why a 250gb 850 Evo costs as much as I bought my 500gb one for :/
I'm not convinced the OP will derive any measurable benefit from the i7. They've not specified exactly what they'll be using the laptop for. However, it's it's general office work, content streaming from the internet, etc then they may prefer to save £ instead as they'll get basically no perceptible performance increase. That said, the i7 is only £59 (7%) more than their original quote and may allow the laptop to be repurposed for more things in the future (e.g. editing home movies), so it's very much the OP's call as to whether it's worth it.
