You do realise it probably counts as fraud if you try and claim VAT back on something that is not eligible to receive it, and its costing all us taxpayers money .......
Alright thanks guys, you've totally convinced me I'm not going to get vat exemption at all, unless i want to start my own business (i'm 14) or get done for fraud. what a great idea of me![]()
If the PC is for educational use and you can prove this, and the school agree that you need it for that purpose then I believe it is legal for you to purchase it vat exempt through the schools IT department. However, if the computer is to be used for anything other than educational use, or is specced above the spec needed to perform such work then thats where you get into trouble.
