Laptop won't boot up

My laptop suddenly won't get past this screen (attached)
I've tried a recovery disk usb which worked once but not again. I can't access bios as this is the only screen to appear. I've looked inside and there's nothing obvious disconnected or loose. It's 6 years old, so not a spring chicken, but I've had no serious issues thus far
Any help gratefully received

Win 10 installed yes

It just goes straight to that screen. Even after shut down it always said resume from hibernation. The only Win recovery disk I have on usb and it's not recognising that

You don’t want a recovery disk, you want a windows installer.

And you have to boot from the usb.

At the moment it’s in hibernation so the OS hasn’t shut down at all, you just need to boot into BIOS and then boot from a windows installer.

You’re in hibernation. You need to power it on so it’s on the hibernation screen, then press and hold the power button until it switches off. Then you should be able to boot into the BIOS as normal.
Been doing that. This is the screen that comes up every time. Can't get round it

You can (or should be able to) if you boot something else. A DVD or USB stick with the Windows installation files on for example.

The 'resume from hibernation' message is only appearing because you keep booting the installed Windows on the hard disk. I reckon the hard disk has failed so try booting something else.

Nothing. When I start the computer it goes straight to that screen and stays there. No options to do anything, bios, whatever. I can only shut it down by holding the power button til it turns off. Then I turn it on, back to that same screen. Ad infinitum
