Well I've just finished rewatching season 2 of gangs of London, and season 3 is just 3 days away, I think we could be in for some interesting viewing.....

Watched Mickey 17.... very strange movie, I'm not really sure what it was or what it thinks it is.

It had quirks of the hunger games, snow piercer etc.... with the dystopian future and over the top characters. I thought they were all played really well but the movie itself left me wanting a bit.

There's a real irony that I just realised though, I found myself not really caring for the main character. I'm not sure if this is deliberate or a complete fluke. I'm thinking the latter as I would have thought it more poignant to be on the opposing side of the main social issue of the flick.

There's a lot going on in the movie, but none of it really seems to go anywhere. Again, this could be deliberate but it felt unpolished.

I agree with that, and was also a bit disappointed that it didn’t go anywhere.

Of course I wasn’t expecting a remake of Moon, but they could have fleshed it out more, made it more dark, made it more light-hearted, or even just made it a more pointed commentary on ethics of cloning.

It’s not one I‘ll be in a hurry to rewatch.

A Wayland-Yutani android in the new Predator movie, this has to be a sign of an incoming new Alien Vs Predator movie?.

It’s a wonderful day for The Karate Kid and the wonder that is Elizabeth Shue.

May have to watch Cocktail next

On Sky Movies (the live channels) I can see back-to-back BTTF, and back-to-back Mission: Impossible...but not Carrotty Kid.

Edit: found them on Film4 (with @^%$* adverts though).
Come to think of, given the egregious (just for you @AgentCooper) spam promotion that’s been going on recently, maybe we should take this as people wanting advertising on the site?

So we shall be injecting ads every 5th post or so

I’ll start

The Accountant 2 - Gutted isn't the word! (new title hook perhaps).

I'm a massive fan of the Accountant. Absolutely nailed the genre with an idea that I think was pretty original, the execution was fantastic without being overly breadcrummy with the plot.

The sequel just tossed all of that in the bin and instead went for every cliché they possibly could.

I liked in the original that they created interesting characters with autism. They were witty, interesting, unique in their own way with their own traits. It was one of the major successes in the plot and story telling for me. Resembling reality somewhat, to my fairly untrained brain at least.

The sequel just absolutely annihilated this idea, it was like a branch of special forces where if you don't have Autism you can't work a keyboard. They went totally OP in this regard and it allowed for very lazy plot points, which they took full advantage of. Lazy, lazy writing and everything aimed at action instead. John Wick 4 all over again.

TL;DR - Save your money.
