That'll be fine then, I was thinking that solid works could maybe have been doing with IPS for the renders but I guess it's just a visual representation that's required more than a completely accurate one.

Would make quite the setup :D

Honestly mate when looking at Solidsworks, CADworx or AutoCAD quality of the picture really doesn't matter. Most of it is low poly rendering anyways space is more premium especially if you are working on larger models.

As long as the monitor isn't black and white it'll usually do the job for that kind of work
Forgot to say I will also be rendering with Keyshot.

is IPS worth it for that?

It's when you drag a window to one of the corners of your screen and it jumps to the nearest corner and automatically resizes to 1/4 of the screen size.

Lol

now I realise what you mean thanks

Yeah 4k for me, all day long. I would probably go for a different route with cheaper panels for your uses. The landscape is what you are really looking for for the work, you could use a cheaper 1080p panel for better colour production.

Two of these:

Would be my choice.
Do you think I could go for an IPS 4K display and two cheapo smaller monitors for my datasheets etc?
