Wireless interference

I've said many times on here that WIFi problems can sometimes be traced back to electrical interference, and here is a wonderful example of the truth of that.

A CNN news report describes how an entire village in Wales had their broadband knocked out every time a resident (unknowingly) switched on an aged (and electrically noisy) television!

The lesson here is that if you're having WiFi issues and you've tried all the obvious things then it's definitely worth checking for other items in your home (or even in neighbour's homes) that could well be the culprit. :)

Yeah I saw that earlier as well, also mention of microwaves interfering with it.

I know sometime back i was having trouble with mine & talking to the guy at sky he asked if i had the base unit of a cordless landline phone near the router as that could cause problems

also a wifi extender would also help in situations where your far away from the router, even to enable a wired connection in another room, it would not help if interference is out of your control, but, certain things may help the situation that you can control
