Less than 5 hours to go!

Pre-loaded my Steam copy, so can play it as soon as it unlocks, hoping there aren't too many bugs - pretty sure there'll be a few.
I also bought L.A.Noire which unlocks in 5 hours time also, but probably won't be touching that for a month LOL darn Elder Scrolls.

I wouldn't worry about the reports that you can "complete" it in 2 hours. It's just finishing the main quest chain, which is miles away from anything near completion. They're just running through the small chain of quests which is the main storyline. Pretty sure I could speed-run New Vegas in 2 cups of tea, but I spent hours & hours on that xD

Sigh... Another game that forces you to use steamed ****. I don't want to use a 3rd party program to play my games.

Let's not restart this topic for the 100th time! xD

Just join the PCSpecialist group on Steam so we can all watch you burn away the hours on Skyrim with the rest of us.

Skyrim is awesomesauce.

Only just started the first 15 minutes though before work. I have to say, I'm not as blown away by the graphics as I was by BF3, It looks very Obliviony/fallouty to me (Highest settings), might just be the first small village, should look nicer out in the wilderness.

Also want to say that the mouse sensitivity is a bit annoying, if I lower it ingame to what I want it, great, then I go into the inventory and the mouse zooms around like mad. Hard to script it to have the same mouse sensitivity throughout the whole game? Have to sit and tap me dpi buttons going in and out of the inventory.

Again, this is all just based on the first 15 minutes before going to work.

Hoping for a patch to fix the sensitivity.

If I remember rightly you could "complete" Oblivion and Morrowind in less than 2 hours, and by complete I mean see the conclusion of the main story. In both games it was by exploiting a bug. In Morrowind it was using a scroll that let you jump/fly for miles and you land in a certain spot the final part of the game kicks in, and in Oblivion it was using boxes or ledges in the Imperial City to jump over a wall and access an area that shouldn't be accessible until the very end, again at which point the final encounter kicks in.

Don't be bothered by the fact that you can finish the game in 2 hours. Even if you can finish it in 2 hours by just doing the story as they intended, it still doesn't matter because the game is huge and the story only one small part.

I have read somewhere that the game generates new quests and can never end. Even after you've finished the main chain you can continue and they've got a system that automatically randomly generate new quests.

Happy Skyrimemberance day.
It may not be so happy... It's 10am and still it has not arrived. Amazon usually delivers on time for me when I pick first class delivery, but so far they've always come between 9-10am, never later than 10 and it's now 10:04.

A moment of silence for my torments please. :(

And Meve - yes it does create endless quests, but obviously the game is not going to randomly generate new dialogue so that can mean only one thing... the quests will just be recycled old quests. Go here, kill this and that, bring me that and this.

Already posted in the laptops section, but I am intrigued at what graphical level you can run this game smoothly on the optimus II laptop.

I don't think it's that hard to run this game at max. I had mine on 100% full everything whilst livestreaming it to friends & running a Minecraft server. Also had MSN, Vent & Chrome going xD was still easily getting 60FPS+ with no jerking.

As for the mouse sensitivity. I had to turn mine up quite a way, but it's one static speed through game & menus. I have multiple dpi settings on my mouse, didn't need to touch those - ingame options worked just fine.

Also again, totally agree. You can probably speed run the main storyline in 2 hours, but personally I see me going over 20 hours without touching the main quests.

Woohoo - it came. Will give my opinion on it later because... you know... my opinion is special and everybody needs to hear it.

I wonder, has anyone (been idiotic enough to have) bought Skyrim NOT on PC? Just curious if people actually buy RPGs like this for consoles, when they are clearly designed to be best played on PC?
