So.... here is the ultimate build. It's the best, simple as that. There isn't a better option for any use outside of a proper workstation (threadripper).

I just want to point out that you may be feeling frustration from others as you state that you don't know what you're selecting or why, it always seems random from my standpoint and yet you also state the following:
There hasn't been a coherent spec posted from you that I've seen yet...
Surely can't just be me drooling over that TBT200 from Corsair? They've very cleverly, and obviously deliberately, included it in the advertising for the drive. I went straight in for a nosey at it!
They're almost doing an Apple o_O
In your shoes I would look towards
1TB Fast Primary - Windows & Apps only (Not a work drive or storage drive in any way).
2TB Fast Secondary - Work drive, temporary asset storage etc.
500gb-1TB 2.5" SSD drive (or M2 if available) - Scratch drive. 500GB is plenty but it just depends on pricing...
This would be entry level for me. Any build needs to be DDR5 if you're not looking to bin it at EOL. It's the only way to consider any future upgrade potential.
The rest of the system is compromised in performance, but with the opportunity to upgrade. The 9600 CPU isn't going to be particularly...
It's genuinely fantastic. The only very minor gripe I have is the PSU cover area. It's not the greatest panel gap etc and feels a little stuck on. There's no interlink between the glass and the lower panel so there's just a disjointed gap between.
That aside, nothing touches it for flexibility...
Looks pretty good to me. There are only 2 things I would consider. For the PSU the 1000w offering should be a no brainer. It's not a lot more cash and it'll cover any future upgrades you want to do with the system. 850w is bang on for the 5070Ti but if you wanted to go higher we would always...
It's still not great tbh. The offering from Tony was still better. Is there a reason you are reluctant to go with the suggestions made? Happy to discuss or take through the individual options if there are points of contention for you?
The POP silent is ok but keep in mind it's a box that holds...
Yes, that configurator is for the older hardware unfortunately. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, the previous generation from AMD was very good. I only try to avoid in order to keep things current and as per your initial query it seemed that you were essentially looking to do just that...
You don't want to go near Intel I'm afraid. They've been off the boil for many years and are a poor choice now. The 14700k is unlikely to be as good a performer for your uses against the 9950X, I would be amazed if it was even close even without the temp issues etc.
Quick check here sums up my...
I remember switching it on a while back and getting similar warnings etc. They were all false positives. I looked into configuring it but it was far too much hassle to be worth my time in honesty. I just switched it off and forgot all about it.
It is a great idea in principle, if it worked as...
You need to understand what you're doing with the controlled folder access. If you aren't familiar with configuring it or how it operates, it's better to leave it turned off.
Ahh apologies. I hadn't noticed all the accessories and the Office license. Again, if you already have this registered you should be able to transfer. With those additions it does push the budget.

I would make some changes to the core platform. The one you have chosen is pretty good, but it's quite old now. You would be starting a few years behind what's currently available. Below is the current platform. There isn't any real difference in price worth noting, I upgraded the storage which...
Anything low power is just a no contest IMO, x86 is nowhere near the level of ARM. It's similar to Intel vs AMD in the CPU market to me.
There's a place for everything still mind you, for me anyway. Slim line anything with any sort of focus on battery life needs to be on ARM.
I would adjust the RAM and the PSU, rest looks good.
Do you need Windows Pro? Not sure if you're just picking it as it's Pro, just in case you don't need the features.
If you share the link in your quote it will make it easier for anyone to assist/feedback.

£275 would get you a very good 1440p gaming monitor. If you want to spend more you could dip into OLED at around the £500 mark but I don't know if there's a need for you to go that high...
Below would be with the aforementioned savings. I've bumped up the PSU as it's a belt and braces choice. If you get into heavier gaming, or upgrade the GPU down the line, it may call for more power to keep the headroom. The 1000w offering is more efficient etc anyway so will be cheaper to run...
